In the face of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which has escalated over the last few days, the Riigikogu’s Estonia-Armenia and Estonia-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Groups express their deepest sympathy for the families of all those who have died, and voice their strong concern on the possible continuation and escalation of the conflict.

We call for an immediate ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh has claimed too many lives not to make understandable that solving differences by violence and force of arms is pointless. Violence against civilian populations and attacks on peaceful settlements are unacceptable.

We call on all parties to stop hostilities immediately and refrain from further escalation of the conflict.

To resolve the conflict, all parties must fully accept and restore the leading role of the OSCE Minsk Group in the peace process and support efforts towards finding a peaceful solution to the situation.
