Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) Keit Pentus-Rosimannus has been appointed a member of the Innovation Advisory Board of the NATO Maritime Unmanned Systems Initiative, which focuses on the developing of innovative unmanned solutions in the maritime domain.
Pentus-Rosimannus said that the function of the Innovation Advisory Board was to contribute to the topics of the future developments and the integration of different solutions of the maritime unmanned systems of the Allies. “We are expected to work on future scenarios and to display fresh perspectives. Estonia is happy to provide that,” she commented.
At its first meeting in June, the Innovation Advisory Board will begin with addressing cross-domain integration challenges. Additionally, the IAB will review current progress and provide strategic recommendations on the future development of the NATO Maritime Unmanned Systems initiative. The Innovation Advisory Board will be chaired by Michael D. Brasseur, Director of the Maritime Unmanned Systems Innovation and Coordination Cell.
